Indore: Indore Development Authority (IDA) has identified a ‘suitable land’ on Super Corridor to propose construction of a convention centre with seating capacity of 10,000 people as announced by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during the recently concluded NRI & Global Investors Summit.
IDA chairman Jaypal Singh Chawda said, “Soon after the CM’s announcement, we launched a search for the suitable land for proposed convention centre and took stock of six locations – all on Super Corridor” he said.
“We have finalized a suitable land for the facility as it is outside the congested areas, but is in the city with airport and Metro Rail within 1 km and Indore-Ahmedabad Highway, Indore-Ujjain highway and other major roads in distance of a few kilometre,” he said.
“Today, local public representatives including MP Shankar Lalwani and mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava took stock of the land and gave their approval to propose it to the state government to develop the convention centre,” Chawda said, adding that further course of actions will be decided as per the instructions from Bhopal.
